Like I said earlier on, my sheets are
scanned into my MacIntosh computer and then colored using
"PhotoShop". In "Issue One" of this magazine I explained how
I did that, but then Gigi came and told me that she still
couldn't get the hang of it.
When I showed her she asked if I wouldn't
do a sort of tutorial on the Web.
The idea is an interesting one, after all
I am a teacher, and there are more things tot tell about,
like for instance making textures like the wooden flooring I
made for my own theatre.
So here goes:
A "PhotoShop" tutorial.
First some things must be made
clear:
Currently I am using version 5.0 of
"PhotoShop". The difference for us at this moment is that
some items on the "Toolbox" have moved around. And that in
the Layers menu there are now some effects like dropshadows.
Things like the new "History Palette" and the "Text Editing"
possibilities don't concern us much at this moment.
The use of "Layers" is of utmost
importance. They came with version 4.0, so users of version
3.0 or earlier can't participate. So sorry.
I use a graphic tablet with "PhotoShop".
It is not a necessity, but it makes work a lot easier. A
mouse is not a very comfortable drawing tool.
I suppose that you have a working
knowledge with "PhotoShop", else you would not be here. So
the differences between the Mac and the Windows version
won't concern you much.
