IN THE STEPS OF THE SUFIS Why not join Br. Jon Bankert, SSF, and  Karen Ural on our visit to Turkey ! !  The tour will be:  from June 26, 2001 to July 5, 2001.  We'll spend time in Istanbul, Ankara,  Cappadocia, Konya and Antalya.  Karen will be our guide to much of the art and culture of Turkey, and Br. Jon will help us process our Pilgrimage with Toy Theater performances and input from Sufi literature.     To whet your appetite, I've attached a view of  the Blue Mosque taken from the rooftop  dining room of our hotel in Istanbul,  the Blue House.  Costs are: $2373 double occupancy; Includes:

Round trip air from NYC and the domestic flights within Turkey, Hotel accommodations, Buffet breakfasts daily, seven lunches at local restaurants. Five dinners, including a Welcome dinner with limited drinks.

Touring and transfers on an air conditioned private motorcoach.
Sightseeing as noted, Bosphorus cruise on a private boat.
Services of a licensed English-speaking guide (other than Karen).
Entrances, portage, service charges, 17% VAT tax, gratuities at included meals.

Cost does NOT include:   Visa fee for Turkey ($40), Airline taxes, Beverages at lunch and dinner, gratuities to the guide and driver (app $3/day of touring)

June 26    Tuesday
Depart NYC for Istanbul on Turkish Air.

June 27    Wednesday
Arrive Istanbul. Meet and transfer to Blue House Hotel. Afternoon sightseeing to Blue Mosque and Ibrahim Pasha Museum with Karen Ural. Evening welcome dinner at hotel including limited local drinks. DINNER

June 28     Thursday
Day of Sightseeing to Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar. Lunch at local restaurant. Evening at leisure. BREAKFAST / LUNCH

June 29    Friday
Bosphorus cruise by private boat. Lunch at typical Bosphorus restaurant on Asian side. Afternoon sightseeing at Camlica Hill and Beylerbeyi Palace on Asian side. Proceed to Sulimaniye Mosque and Kariye Museum. Return to Hotel. Evening at liesure. BREAKFAST / LUNCH

June 30    Saturday
Transfer to airport for flight to Ankara. Arrive Ankara. Meet / Visit Anthropological Museum. Lunch at local restaurant. Proceed to Cappadocia. Dinner and overnight at Peri Tower Hotel. BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER

July 1    Sunday
Full day of sightseeing in the region (Goreme, Urgup, Zelve, Avanos). Return to hotel for Dinner / overnight. BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER

July 2 Monday
Depart for Konya. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon sightseeing in Konya to Mevlana Museum, Masoleum (Rumi's Tomb) and Mosque. Dinner and overnight at Dundar Hotel. BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER

July 3    Tuesday
Depart for Antalya. Sightseeing at Perge and Aspendos en route. Arrive Antalya, Talya Hotel for Dinner and overnight. BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER

July 4    Wednesday
Optional morning excursion to Termessos. Return to Hotel. Evening at liesure. BREAKFAST

July 5    Thursday
Transfer to airport for flight to Istanbul to connect with Turkish Air flight to NYC. BREAKFAST
 

To hold our ground reservations we will need a $150 deposit by November 18, 1999. A further deposit of  $150 will be required in February to hold the air reservations. We will refund deposits if the tour is canceled.
