More from Andreas Kahre
Since l984, when I first encountered paper theatre in an exhibit about
Walter
Roehler in Hanau, I have been fascinated and delighted to find
that there is such a large community of enthusiasts. I have been
living in Canada since 1979 where I work as a visual artist, director,
set and sound designer, and have recently begun to create new paper theatre
pieces. Our first effort was a performance based on a new translation
and adaptation of Georg Buchner's Woyzeck in 1999;
and more recently a work called x, y, a soldier's tale, based
on the Stravinsky/Ramuz chamber opera, for improvising musique actuelle
ensemble, three narrators and paper theatre, which we are hoping to tour
if at all possible. . .
