The puppet stage is a cartoon of a model theater I performed with for my workshop soul mates. Robert Poulter's workshop was a work through . . . emphasizing performance. This workshop icon is an image from one of Robert's performance pieces; "Boom" a comedy of big business. . . One slide is a mystery man, a test of my miniature cartooning powers. The last but not least, of the slide puppets, is the festival logo: Mr Punch on a space Odyssey of his own.
I also attended workshops by Susan VandeWeghe who demystified the stringing and working of marionettes for me, and Alan Cook's"Low Cost Shadow Puppets" (Pretty cool - to meet a living legend - the man with THE collection). A festival Highlight was an under the stars (11:30pm) performance by Blair Thomas of Don Cristobal (as scripted by Garcia Lorca, another legend).

T'he theater is designed as a plain penny or uncolored version for printing economy. You are welcome to xerox this onto a stiff piece of card, color the set up in an art medium of choice and then assemble the model. The stage construction works best if one cuts, folds, and glues the base first. Second, cut, fold, and glue on the proscenium and wings. Third, cut, fold and glue the side and back support pieces: + * . Now you have only to cut, fold, and animate the slides. Feel free to make multiple copies and mail these as post cards; both cards are needed for full assembly.
